Improvisation is being completely okay with not knowing what the hell you’re doing.

If your writing life has been plagued by overthinking, overplanning, second-guessing, and procrastination, I invite you to join me Wednesday, August 30, for the next FREE meeting of the Memoir Collective. At this meeting, we’ll be learning how to use the tools of improvisational acting and comedy to get words on the page—and have fun while doing so.

In particular, we’ll focus on three basic improv principles:

–Just show up (which means you have to register!)

–Don’t prepare (leave your notes and other drafts behind)

–Say yes… and (to every prompt and creative impulse)

Like all Memoir Collectives this meeting will include some craft discussion, a bit of social time with other writers, and plenty of creative prompts to help you generate new pages.

(PS: If you’re interested in a deeper dive into Improvisational Memoir Writing, join me for the six-week Improvisational Memoir Class that starts September 13.)
